Outcomes: LO4 / LO5
The Passion Project, focused on developing a chatbot using generative AI, provided a comprehensive learning experience that integrated all of the designated Learning Outcomes (LOs). Each aspect of the project, from conceptualization to implementation, helped me achieve these outcomes and fostered both personal and professional growth.
Throughout the Passion Project, I applied user-centered design principles and visual design techniques to create engaging concepts. By exploring emerging trends and developments in media, design, and technologies, I developed interactive and validated media products. The chatbot was designed to enhance user experience on crochet websites, incorporating features like natural language understanding and personalized assistance, demonstrating my ability to translate innovative ideas into practical solutions.
I documented and commented on my code using version control systems, both personally and in a collaborative context. Platforms like GitLab facilitated version control and collaboration efforts, ensuring that my code was well-organized and accessible. This practice not only improved my technical skills but also enabled effective communication of technical recommendations, ensuring a smooth and efficient development process.
The project involved multiple iterations, each building on feedback and research findings. Starting with initial prototypes, I incorporated user feedback to refine and improve the chatbot's functionality and design. This iterative process was well-documented, showcasing the successive stages of my creative process and the connections between each iteration. By methodically substantiating my design and development choices, I ensured that the final product was user-centric and highly functional.
I adhered to professional standards by applying a relevant methodological approach to formulate project goals, involve stakeholders, and conduct applied research. Ethical, intercultural, and sustainable aspects were considered throughout the project. For instance, I conducted surveys and interviews to gather user insights and ensure that the chatbot met diverse needs. This rigorous approach enabled me to provide well-founded advice, make informed decisions, and deliver comprehensive reports, reflecting my commitment to professional excellence.
The Passion Project was also an opportunity for personal development. I became more aware of my own strengths and weaknesses in the field of ICT. By aligning my actions with my core values, I promoted personal growth and developed a proactive learning attitude. Taking on specific roles that matched my skills and interests, I contributed to the project’s success and fostered a sense of ownership and responsibility.
